How do I create a new mail account in my email program?

First, make sure you have created a mail name in the Hosting Control Panel. Click here for instructions.

We have provided instructions here for setting up your email account using Outlook Express, as this is the most popular email program. Most of these instructions are similar for other email programs.

  1. Open Outlook Express
  2. From the menu options click 'Tools', then 'Accounts'
  3. Select the 'Mail' tab
  4. On the right hand side click 'Add' then 'Mail'
  5. Type your name or Company name in the 'Display name' box. Click 'Next'.
  6. Type your email address in the 'E-mail address' box (eg. sales@yourdomain.com.au) Click 'Next'.
  7. 'My incoming mail server is a pop3 server' should be left as is
  8. In the 'Incoming mail server:' box type your domain name in this format - mail.yourdomain.com.au
  9. In the 'Outgoing mail server:' box type in your ISP's outgoing mail server (check your ISP email account properties for this)
  10. In the 'Account name' box type the mailname that you created above (eg. 'sales')
  11. In the 'Password' box type the password that you created for the mailname above. Click 'Next'.
  12. Now your settings are complete, click 'Finish' to exit.

You should now be able to send and receive email with this mail name.
